Years and Years (The BIC, Bournemouth- 4/4/16) ★★★★★

2015 has been a massive year for Years and Years and Ollie Alexander proves why he is the perfect frontman, with his powerful vocals and energetic performance filling the Bournemouth International Centre tonight as part of their 2016 UK Arena tour. Sporting glitter on his face, shorts and sports jacket, Ollie is ready to bring our beach town alive! Hitting all his high notes with ease and stopping to speak to the sold out crowd between songs, the energy at the Windsor hall is enough to get everyone jumping and dancing throughout the night.

Ollie strolls up and down the catwalk oozing with confidence, and with some impressive dance moves to match. The BIC plays host to an equally impressive lighting show tonight, featuring a plethora of lasers and colourful flashing beams.

Definite crowd pleasers of the evening are performances of chart topping hits Desire, King and Shine. All provoking the biggest reaction from the mixed age crowd. A surprising alternative version of the original 1998 Brandy & Monica track, The Boy is mine, recently remixed and released by 99 Souls featuring Destiny’s Child, The Girl is mine and Katy Perry’s popular track Dark Horse, released back in 2013 was a personal highlight.

Overall, an exciting, fast paced and fun evening is had by all and I cannot wait to see what Years and Years have in store for us on their next tour…hopefully another Bournemouth date, please!
