Peter Andre (The BIC, Bournemouth – 17/3/16) ★★★★☆

Peter Andre is not everyone’s cup of tea, but boy he puts his heart and soul into his show.

There was a real buzz and atmosphere in the Windsor hall at the BIC in Bournemouth, being surprised at the age range of the fairly female dominated audience, while the husbands there, were just  chaperones.

The screams and shouts were deafening when Peter eventually came on, but not before 2 support bands, both good, but Daughters of Davis were better.

A see through black curtain hiding Pete and the band, pulled away to the delighted crowd singing Prince’s 1999. Wearing  Black aviator sunglasses, thin white tie and a very glittery belt. His exceptional talented  7 piece band were smartly dressed, white shirt and thin black tie’s together with his excellent backing singers Wendi and Royston we were in for a good night of song and dance.

If you were expecting a night of Andre’s take on the  classic Rat Pack swing songs then we were all disappointed, (I’m not sure Peter Andre should have called his tour “come swing with me” more like the best bits of 25years), singing  just a few from his new album “come fly with me”, fly me to the moon,  ain’t that a kick in the head, at times the music swallowed his vocals.

Having said that the show was upbeat, funky at times, showcasing Pete’s dancing abilities, wriggling his hips; the audience went wild every time.

Peter Andre being the ever professional and knowing his fans was engaging between songs and had a lovely banter with the audience, mixing with the crowd and selecting one lucky lady to share the stage with, singing into her eyes, giving her a hug at the end  just to make her night. He sang medleys of his album’s Natural, Time, Angels & Demon, cover versions of Cry me a river(Justin Timberlake) & Justin Bieber’s Sorry, a Michael Jackson medley, all well received, and finally the encore what everyone had been waiting for  Mysterious Girl with thunderous applause.

The overall show was a hit (just not the title), didn’t notice any walk outs, everyone was standing and dancing, clapping and singing  in their chairs the whole night through, a great night was had by all.

The standout songs for me were Happy and the Jackson medley.

 I give this concert 4 stars .
