Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds (The BIC, Bournemouth – 30/4/16) ★★★★★

What can you say about Noel Gallagher that already hasn’t been said, so if you could come up with just one word to describe Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds gig it would have to be fantastic.

First up The Ramifications band, a good start to an even better show, from then on the crowd was buzzing.

On came Noel and the band to a magnificent roar from loyal fans, along with the backing singers a choir of sorts that seemed out of place that sat at the back of the stage, I hope they had ear plugs, it was a loud concert, as the gig progressed through the night I took less notice of them as all eyes were on Noel.

The set piece started with new material from his latest album Casing Yesterday -Lock all the doors, In the Heat of the Moment, Riverman with the male dominating audience singing along word perfect to all his songs –pretty impressive I’d say.

There wasn’t much banter between Noel and his followers but when it did come it was humorous and well received, the crowd ate it up.

“You Know we Can’t go Back” was dedicated to all Oasis fans the crowd went wild, being a cover version was pretty cool, and so it went on brilliant song after brilliant song The Death of You and Me,  Champagne Supernova, Ballad of the Mighty I, Half the World Away, and many more in equal amounts  from Oasis era and NG’s current band,  until the encore, just when you thought it couldn’t get any better it did Wonderwall was more than well received and the best was left until last ”Don’t look back in Anger”  the fans out sang Noel on that one, as the fans were leaving they were still singing, and saying it was the best ever concert they have been to.

On the negative side and this has nothing to do with the gig but more to do with people, if you are going to stand in the mosh pit; wear water proof clothing as the amount of plastic glasses being thrown with alcohol throughout the concert wasn’t needed or necessary, apart from that, the lights, music, and atmosphere made for a brilliant night out at the BIC Bournemouth, hats off to you Mr Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.

Best part of the show, the encore it brought the house down especially songs Wonderwall and Don’t look back in Anger, I give this concert 5 out of 5 stars.
