Beverley Knight (The Pavilion, Bournemouth – 24/5/16) ★★★★★

By: editor

Beverly Knight has a fabulous voice and she filled the Pavilion, Bournemouth for the very first time with her soulful style.

This wasn’t going to be a normal sit down gig, from the very beginning of Soul Survivor, Beverly had us all standing and dancing.

Knight is touring her new album and this is the first time she has been on the road for five years, the break from the West End musical The Bodyguard, has reminded her just how much she loves gigging.

Middle of Love was well received, taken from Soulsville her 9th studio album based on her love of the city of Memphis.

As well as singing past songs Made it Back, Greatest Day, Gold, Shoulda Woulda Coulda plus more, tributes were made to Maurice White of Earth Wind and Fire, and to her idol Prince with Alphabet Street.

The whole show was great, the best song for me was her cover of I’m Every Woman.

Beverly gave it her all and the crowd got what they came for.

I give this concert 5 stars.
